Ben's first haircut..............

hey guys, sorry it's been so long. Since i've been back at work it seems i don't even have as much time to take pictures, let alone post them!!! Last Friday, Kim was good enough to come over and give us both haircuts, mine first. No pics, of course, but she did a wicked job!! very short, which is what i wanted! Here, we put Ben in his highchair in front of the TV with his fav tunes on, and he was pretty good. Kim wet his hair down and spiked it, so cute! The first snip, which of course we kept..........
she's spritzing him here, hence the eyes........

Kim, Dad and Ben..............trying to get the back without impaling him.......... and finally Kim and Ben.
It turned out really well, thanks again Kim for coming over and doing such a great job. If you want to check out a few videos of Ben's first haircut, click here

Kaizer
Jan 25th 2004 - Feb 13th 2007
Our Best Friend

Kaizer had been sick since before Christmas, and the vet believed it was Bronchitis. After being on numerous different pills which didn't make him feel better, he was finally diagnosed as having leukemia. We'll miss ya Kaiz!

Benjamin's Birthday Party

I can't believe Benjamin is finally a year old!!! We had his birthday party Saturday, Feb 3rd. Mom and Dad came up, and Betty was here too. I think Ben had a blast!!

Here he is with his cake, chocolate of course with chocolate icing, for ultimate messiness!!!He actually licked all the icing first, then started to eat the cake.............

Of course this is the best pic of the day!! But what's a picture when you can see the video? check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxCAhrKz7rg I love this pic of him with mom and dad, they hadn't seen him for about 6 weeks, so they saw quite a difference in him...................

Grammie and Ben playing with streamers............ And Ben opening his gifts........
The slide Grammie and Poppie Richardson got him.......And both grammies with Ben.

It was a good day, even though the rest of the family couldn't make it. Ang and Andrew and Sam were down with the flu, and Joe and Jason couldn't make it either, but Ben had a great visit with his grandparents.

Christmas in Miramichi

Christmas morning, we put poor Benjamin in this outfit - he'll kill us in a few years when he sees this, but he was so cute!! Of course, he wasn't really into opening gifts, but it was still fun.

This is the animal train that Santa brought
And here he is having his Christmas dinner. I think he likes turkey!

Christmas in Miramichi.......part 2

Later in the day, we went to Betty and Joe's for a visit. Here's a picture of their almost 30 pound turkey, we had to get a picture side by side cause Ben's almost as heavy!! Betty had 6 for Christmas dinner, and there wasn't even a dent in the breast and leg on the other side. All kids like boxes, right? Here's Ben in the box his new wagon came in
and here's his new wagon. It's pretty cool, wheels can be switched to skis

so it can be used year round.

All in all, it was a wonderful Christmas, though pretty quiet. Joey and Kelly came for a short visit Christmas night, and we visited Gramps the next day. New Years Eve was great too, thanks again to Darcy, Melissa and Mitch for watching Ben, we had our first night out "since Ben". I'm sure Ben had fun, and it was nice to visit with friends...Happy New Year!

Christmas in McAdam

I know, i'm always slow about doing posts, but i'll make up for it today.

Ben had his picture taken December 10th with Santa, he wasn't too impressed!! This was taken about 2 seconds before he started crying!

We went to McAdam to spend a few days with my family on December 13th, Mom and Dad found a big difference in him, especially with him walking now~ they hadn't seen him since the baptism. Here's my Mom and Ben in front of their christmas tree, waving to the camera.
I think there's no better feeling than when a baby falls asleep on you, and he looks so peaceful here with Grammie!
It's always play time with Poppie, here's a picture of them together in St Andrews.
We stopped for a visit with Great Grammie and Great Grampie in St. Stephen, they got quite a kick out of him.
Okay, this blog is really starting to bother me. I can't add any more pictures here, so this entry will have a couple of different parts. Stay tuned..........

Christmas in McAdam..........part 2

Great Grampie Richardson in St. Stephen had a hard time hanging onto Ben, after so long in the car he was just full of energy. After St. Stephen, we went to St. Andrews to visit my mom's mom, she'll be 97 in February, and is in remarkable shape. Of course Ben was talking a mile a minute (his own language), and she thought he was just adorable.
In the manor where Grammie lives, for some reason they have these 2 huge stuffed animals, way bigger than Ben, and he kept going for their noses!!

After a very long (but wonderful day) christmas shopping and visiting everyone, we finally made it back to McAdam. I always look forward to our trips there, but they're always so exhausting, with so much travelling. Saturday was pretty much just relaxing, and here's a picture of Ben in Poppy's first rocking chair. A perfect fit!!

Sunday morning before leaving, we had Christmas with Grammie and Poppie, and here's a pic of Ben opening his new telephone. Another noisy toy, but he loves it!

Christmas in McAdam..................last part!

This blog is really giving me problems today, I've had to add 1 picture at a time, and no more than 5 per post. I thought beta was better?!

Here's one more pic of ben opening his toys in McAdam, notice the bow on his head? Talk about excited when he opened these blocks!! He was screeching and banging on them, but by the time I got the camera and started a video, he pretty much was done. He loves playing with them though, Jody will build a big tower with them and Ben can't wait to knock it down, screeching all the while! On our way back home, we wanted to stop in at my sister's in Penniac, to see them all. Unfortunately Bill wasn't there, but we had a good visit with Ang, Andrew, Sam, and Allan and Hunter, Andrew's two boys. Unfortunately i didn't get a picture of them though........
Here's Aunt Angie giving Ben his supper.

And finally a picture of Sam cuddling with Ben. A smile with no teeth, but that'll change soon, she gets her braces off this month. Yippeee!!!!!!
Somehow, we didn't get a picture of Andrew either, but that's really no surprise. He never seems to be around when the camera comes out...............

All in all, a wonderful trip to McAdam and areas, it was great to see everyone. Even with all the travelling, Ben didn't lose his sunny disposition (thank goodness!) and we can't wait to see everyone again real soon!

Benjamin's 10 months old....................

Okay, round 3!! Each time I tried to do this post, I lost it!! It gets to be a little frustrating after a while, that's why it took me a week to do this one. On December 2nd, we had our first snow fall, and this is Benjamin's first time out in it. For all of you who have already had children, you're probably gettting tired of all these "firsts", but it's all new to us, so bear with us!
His snowsuit is so big on him he could hardly move!

Ben started walking on the 3rd, and here's a couple of video clips if you want to check them out.

Benjamin's 9 months old..............here are just a few assorted pictures, he looks so old in the first one!!!

And lastly, I thought I'd include a picture of the new windmill that Joe and Jason put up, it'll help the trout that they had stocked the pond with. The bad news is that the pond will not freeze over completely this year, so unfortunately no skating or hockey here................

I should say thanks to mydyslexic friend, aka Kim. The new beta version is a lot easier to use, especially uploading pictures. Thanks!!

Tuesday, November 21, 2006

Okay, okay, got a little bit of flak for not keeping this up, so over the next few days I'll be doing a couple of posts to catch up. Before I go any further, congratulations to Ang and Andrew on your engagement!!! Can't think of a better pair, when are you going to do the deed??
Remembrance Day weekend, we decided last minute to go up to Darcy and Melissa's camp for the weekend, it was so nice to get away. Ben hadn't been there since he was 5 weeks old. We arrived about 2 or so on Friday, and Darcy, Dean and Jade (friends from Korea) were already there. Soon after, Kim, Liss and Mitchell arrived. As everyone knows, Ben loves the camera, and here he is with Liss playing up to it. Friday when we got there, there was quite the fire going in the camp, so we stripped Ben down, and here is Mitchell (13 and very talented, he has his own band!) playing his electric guitar for him, Ben just loves it!!
It was such a beautiful day, around 15 deg or so, so we put Ben's playpen outside. I wanted to include this pic because it's not very often I can get a pic of him when he's not looking and smiling for the camera!
Ben just loves Jade, they had a lot of fun playing together on her bed.
Later that night, poor Jake, Darcy and Melissa's dog got sprayed by a skunk. We were lucky it was just him, since we had Kaizer there, and there was one other dog there as well. Liss had heard about this wonderful antidote for skunk, and were very lucky to actually find some baking soda and peroxide. After a couple of batches of the magic solution,
poor Jake was finally smelling good again, although quite cold. Darcy is famous for his wonderful fires, so after some time curled up in front of it he was much better.
There was a great crowd up there, 7 kids, many many adults, and really nice weather until we had to leave. What a beautiful place to be. Thanks to Darcy and Liss for having us!!
